The land was owned by the District Council and had localised soil contamination already remediated. The subdivision was to provide new housing supply for the Ōpōtiki township and included consultation with Whakatōhea. The result was a subdivision that responded to the context of the site, addressed environmental constraints, and provided a mix of section sizes to enable housing choice. The subdivision was completed in 2023 and is now being progressively developed with new housing for the Ōpōtiki community.
