For this development, MPAD led the resource consent process and also provided landscape design and urban design assessment services. The resource consent was for a subdivision and the development of eight two-storey townhouses, each provided with a private outdoor area and one carpark. The design utilises contemporary materials, glazing, fencing and soft landscape treatment to ensure the development responds appropriately to the existing and planned character of The Avenues.
For the landscape treatment MPAD prepared a Landscape Plan that mostly included native plant species. The chosen species included a combination of specimen trees and low-maintenance ground cover, as well as areas of grass. The landscaping was combined with hard surface materials, which complemented the architectural design of the townhouses.
MPAD is involved in numerous projects requiring the same services delivered in the case of 422 Devonport Road.
